Something different…

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Hormone Pregnancy Tests is one of the largest cross-party groups within the UK Government and includes over 133 MPs and Peers. The purpose of this group is to raise awareness of families affected by the use of the drug Primodos; a drug that was linked to bodily malformations in new-born babies, as well as causing higher rates of miscarriages and infant deaths. The group was set up and has been led by Chair, Yasmin Qureshi MP since 2012.

This is something special to me. I was asked by a friend of mine who works at the House of Commons for Yasmin, if I had time to help with a report. I was in the middle of Annual Report season, but I realised I did have some downtime. This report is the product of a weekend and a few evenings.

During the production of the report, I spoke with Marie Lyon, Chair of the Association of Children Damaged by Hormone Pregnancy Tests who was so grateful that I was able to put this together for her and Yasmin. The report was launched in Parliament with the support of Theresa May (the former Prime Minister) and other prominent politicians. All of the physical copies that were available went in no time. The group eventually found a sponsor who paid for a load more.
